Do I use Direct URL or Geo-IP?

Direct URLs will only work if a user is coming from a registered IP address. To register or report any additions or changes in your library's IP address, please use the MCLS IP Reporting Form. PLEASE NOTE that for Gale resources, your library can change the lom_accessmich of the URL to your particular Gale location ID.

In general, the Geo-IP URLs check to see if the user is coming from a registered IP address (on the vendor end), then check to see if a user is within Michigan (based on their IP address). These links will only count towards an individual library's statistics for the EBSCO eResources as long as the vendor has those IP addresses registered on their end.
