The Value of MeL to Michigan’s K-12 Community
The Michigan eLibrary has always been a valuable resource for the K-12 community. Now, more than ever, the eResources in MeL offer teachers and students the ability to access a wealth of multimodal information in ways that can support distance learning as well as face-to-face instruction.
In the past 16 months, MeL training has been delivered in over 75 school districts, ISDs/RESAs/RESDs, and education-related conferences both in person and virtually. Additionally, over 750 educators throughout the state have completed one or more of the 4 Edupath’s courses that have been published in the past 8 months. These courses offer introductory knowledge of MeL eResources, identify early literacy resources that can be accessed for instruction, show teachers how to move individual databases to their own websites and guide teachers through content relevant to career, college and military preparation. Not only do teachers earn free SCECHs by completing these courses, they share the benefits of learning about MeL:

MeL has eBooks, images, video clips, audio clips, magazine articles, biographies, primary source documents, science experiments, newswire articles from around the globe, test-prep resources, skill-building resources, and SO much more to support our K-12 students in and out of the classroom.
