Michigan mines have produced iron, copper, and minerals. This gallery of photos presents mine headframes and structures as they appeared between 1900 and 1950. Most of the old mine structures have since been salvaged or removed. Photographs were taken by staff of the Geological and Mining Engineering and Sciences Department at Michigan Technological University.
